Janet Smart

Janet Smart is Co-Director of the CABDyN Complexity Centre, which she established with Felix Reed-Tsochas and Neil Johnson in 2003.  She is a Research Fellow at the Saïd Business School, and previously was a Reader in the Department of Engineering Science at Oxford University, where she researched manufacturing systems and their complexity. She set up the MSc in Major Programme Management at the Saïd Business School, and currently teaches the Systems Engineering module for the course.  At present her research interests are on modern methods of systems engineering for major programmes, and she has contributed to the development of robust network structure design, based on biological models.
