Sergey Melnik
Department of Mathematics and Statistics

University of Limerick, Ireland
Sergey Melnik is an IRCSET-Marie Curie Research Fellow at the University of Limerick. He received his MSc in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science from Nayanova University (Russia), and a PhD in Physics from the University College Cork (Ireland). Previously he held a postdoctoral position at the University of Limerick (Ireland).

Much of his present work focuses on the development of analytical methods for solving different dynamics (e.g. cascades, opinion models, site and bond percolation) on classes of random networks with tunable degree distribution, degree-degree correlations or clustering, and on understanding the power and limitations of these methods by comparing the analytical predictions with numerical simulations on real-world networks from various domains.
